Words that sprang into my mind as I played the clip: creepy, weird, why, ignorance, understanding, communication, autisum(?), powerful.
Got this off mrbrown's page; and if you haven't watched this video yet, I would just like to remind you to not freak out when it's just started playing. If you're really uncomfortable with all that humming and random movements/objects, forward it all the way to the part at 3min 15sec okayy.
I suddenly get the feeling that we've all been over-rating ourselves all this while; by allowing ourselves to think that we are so much more superior to them (autistic people) in every way, just because they speak a language uncommon to ours.
I personally believe that there's a voice in each and every one of them, crying out to all the people out here, to accept them the way they are and not treat them less of a person just because of their difference. butbutbut there's of course the big irony of accepting Autism as another culture rather than a mental disability; it's not about whether or not they want to blend into this society, but rather, it's the need for them to blend and survive. The need that pushes for all the support to be given to them to help them adjust. Without adjustment, how is it going to be possible for them to find a job, get along with their colleagues, pay their bills, etc etc?
Life's a bitch? I totally agree with that.
