I was one of the inline skating instructors for the (mega) camp at Christ Church Secondary some few days back. The camp was a collaboration of 12 different churches, and participants were made up of young kids and some teenagers. I attended 2 out of 3 days and for the time that I was there, we developed a love-hate relationship with children, the sun and the hot weather. I don't know if it's just this bunch but children nowadays need to learn how to be more independant. I swear I could have started screaming at the top of my lungs if I had to take just one more lesson.
What exactly happened? I made all the kids grab a set of protective guards, a helmet, and a pair of skates each. Young children being themselves, I wasn't too surprised that a lot of them started putting on their skates even before wearing the guards. So, lesson after lesson, I had to repeat to them, "Children, please put on your knee guards before you wear your skates". I was okay with that, and maybe I'd just hoped that they'd start following instructions more closely.
TOO MANY of them were unable to wear the guards correctly at first, NONE of them watched when I demonstrated (though they managed to get them on one way or other), and ONE particular girl insisted that I help her put on every single guard. namai. She think she princess or what. What really pissed me off was the fact that they were unsure of how to wear the guards/skates correctly, yet they refused to listen to instructions and when they start failing to put them on correctly one by one, they'd be like "I don't know how to wear" with a damned helpless face. Imagine 7 - 8 children saying that to you all at the same time, I can assure you it's frustrating. I truly need to start my learning stint at NIE soon, keeping fingers crossed.
dougie left for Batam with his secondary school friends yesterday, in the morning. He'd just called to say that they went cable-skiing today, and will be back tomorrow afternoon. Keeping fingers crossed for a safe journey back.
Visited Zouk with XY and Edwina last night. I met Z at the entrance and he was really nice to have helped me cut the (damned long) queue. We hopped over to MOS for a short while for a birthday party and met an asshole in Smoove. Headed back to Zouk after we tried trancing at the main arena. It's Zouk for me anytime baby. It must be Fred Perry night or something la, noticed that guys are REALLY into Fred Perry polo tees now, and they don't come cheap, Z told me he paid $200 for his tee. If I see the whole club filled with people wearing an identical $200 top as me, I'd be damned gek sim.
Caught up with Z on the phone after we headed home. He told me bout how he 'tested water' to prove his point that girls nowadays are just犯贱, and the girls he talked about were all from NUS. NUS girls love clubbing huh. He got to know one of them on the dancefloor, and they exchanged numbers, held hands, and what-nots. One particular girl messaged him to tell him, "Hey I think you're a good guy so I don't want to lie to you, I'm attached", after he asked if she's home already. In the next few days, he'd texted the girl out for a movie, and she said okay. He fed the girl, and she let him. He said to himself, that poor boyfriend. If he ever found out that his girlfriend did something like that, the one and only thing he'll do is to break up with her. While I do not necessarily approve of what he does to prove his point, I am appalled that girls nowadays are so open and liberal bout getting touchy with random strangers. Whatever's happened to staying faithful, and loving yourselves?
Then, he told me about his Tioman trip and made me kinda tempted to go for another weekend getaway real soon. It's only $150 for a 3D2N stay and there are so many activities to do! Fill you guys with more details if I'm going to organize one such trip okay?
Met up with tan, lala and ev for dinner at Sakura, Compass Point, today. Had fun catching up with the babes, and talking about nothing. I hope all goes well for the girls, and we'll be able to go for a sushi buffet sometime soon again.

And this is something that happened at the camp:
It was really sunny and the weather was hot. This group of children were taking off their protective pads and one of them suddenly exclaimed loudly, "it's so hot! I curse the sun!" One of the adult leaders heard him and gave him a short lecture on how "God gave us the sun" and reprimanded him for cursing it. Chuckle chuckle. church camps...

There's been a lack of updates and this entry's to make up for it. Wait for the pictures to slowly load people!
HOTBOYS KELONG 17th & 18th MAY
Slept over at Siao's with Rob the night before we left. Bf was supposed to come over to finally take a look at Milo but he ended up at andy's place with the rest of his gang. We spent most of the time watching madtv clips on youtube and munching on tasty tapioca chips before falling asleep finally.
The next day started damned early. We got onto our coach and were soon on our way to NTU, and then JB.

Took a 25-minute speedboat ride to get us to the kelong, and the ride was kinda thrilling. Think viking ship rides at amusement parks, plus a whole new lot of wind in your hair.
Kelong was pretty packed with many other fellow Singaporeans when we arrived, kids running about and shrieking, uncles in different corners of the kelong with their lines cast into the waters. It was lunchtime! Didn't take us long after that to start our own fishing adventures, set up the idiot-proof rigs and found ourselves a comfortable spot to cast our lines.

4 pm came and it was time for to visit the nearby sibu island. waves were kinda strong, though it's probably not at the strongest yet. Got pushed about by the waves abit before we came ashore to play Captain's ball.

So 2 days and 1 night passed by pretty quickly. With that many people on the kelong, I guess I am thankful that it didn't have to be any longer/shorter. It was a good weekend getaway, perfect for people who don't have that much time to spare, but would still like to get away from the hustle and bustle of the city life.
VESAK DAY 19th MAY
Accompanied my mum to the Gwan Yim temple at Geylang Lorong 27 in the afternoon. Did the 'bathe Buddha' thing, had a serving of vegetarian lunch and a stick of durian ice-cream before we moved over to Peninsular Plaza to get her a new pair of track shoes.
Met up with ex-Empathians for dinner at Heeren's NYDC and contemplated for a long time before deciding to head to the bar/pub that jianwei frequents. Had a hard time persuading zeling there. The bar's called 6 A.M and it's located near Central, Clark Quay. Bf came down and stayed for a short while before he sent me home. Realized that he left his wallet at the pub only after I got home.

Dinner at SHIN KUSHIYA
Met up with bf for dinner on Tuesday evening. We were supposed to meet for Gelare but we ended up in some Japanese-skewer restaurant first instead. And it's also on this night that I tried Godiva's goldlixer drink (or sth like that, dark chocolate) and I tasted bliss. $10 for a cup of ice-cold bliss, you should try it someday too.
Right back to Shin Kushiya. It's located somewhere (very) near to the new underpass when you walk out of Citylink to Suntec.
Salmon sashimi, the belly part. $9.50 for the few slices of salmon but it was (in bf's words) heaven. He's quite a salmon sashimi fan these days... Quality-wise, it was pretty good. Near to melt-in-mouth.
Bf's main, bits of char-grilled salmon and rice in clear broth. Reminds me of mwee fan, if you know what that is. Don't be fooled by the looks, this seemingly normal bowl of soup actually tastes power, especially with the little bit of wasabi mixed into the broth.
my katsu curry don. the curry's sweet, I would actually prefer it a little more savoury. As for the pork cutlet, it stayed crispy throughout and it's also not too greasy. guess the pork's really quite good.

complimentary drinks, lychee cocktail and beer.
Do try this if you're a fan of sesame desserts. The ice-cream's accompanied by some thick sesame paste at the side for extra eating pleasure. miam.
At gelare,
mango smoothie, i've never been a big fan of smoothies but omg, this has got to be one of the best that i've ever tasted (which is in this case, not a lot).

GRADUATION 22nd MAY
And so, we officially graduate. Was sick and hence, the lack of pictures. Made my way home quickly after the ceremony ended. Mum attended the ceremony with me. Left much emotions surging, but I guess that'll be another entry by itself.

And so, we graduated.
I went wakeboarding the next day, barely after I got a teeny bit better. Bf picked me up and drove us to Punggol Marina to meet his friends and the rjc girls. It's like a once-a-year thing now, wakeboarding. So bloody expensive can!
Will not forget to mention that relatives are here to visit from Penang. Danny's starting school in a week and the family's here to help him get settled. We visited at least 10 different "3 for $10" shops selling the same stuff over at Chinatown last night. Ohgosh.
What a superlong entry.

Pulled myself out of bed early morning and made my way down to Buona Vista to get my letter of appointment signed. I still can't believe I made this decision. After all, I never expected myself to consider this as one of my career options at any point in time before this.
The Editorium was half-filled by the time the speaker (she's like the english version of pengkwee, my sec school chinese teacher) started speaking. All of us got our sets of letters, forms (ohmy so many), presentation slides, and the speaker quickly ran through her presentation with us.

Leave scheme. check
Got down to the 3rd level where we had our photoshoot (totally un-ANTM, wrong choice of word) for the PScard. I had a very cute lady telling me "okay you look ready!" when it was my turn for the take. We sat beside each other during the briefing and I found out her name's Lilian, and she used to be working under NUH's operations management. What a mid-career switch huh.
Met up with Siao at Wheelock and we went to have XIAO LONG BAOs at Din Tai Fung. They were slurpingly good. And then Siao asked me how did the soup end up inside those baos. We guessed the 'soup' oozes out from the meat-filling when the XLBs are being steamed. Anyone here who really knows the answer?
Had the most torturous walk from Wisma to Far East after our 10 XLBs. gawd I hate those heels. Made some impulse buys that wasn't so good for our wallets (& I got a new one!) before we had HALF-PRICED WAFFLES at GELARE! I can't believe it's her first time at Gelare's but anyway, we should go again next Tuesday!!!
Headed back home for Grandma's birthday dinner celebrations. Caught up with relatives and my little cousins (who are morphing into little terrors). Had a long chat with one of my older cousins about joining NIE. He's taking a mid-career switch (engineer-turned-D&T/CPA-teacher) because he feels that the prospects are really not that bad. We might bump into each other in school in future because he's going to end his contract and start lessons at NIE real soon! I seriously feel better now that I've talked to him, & I guess that's mainly because he told me not to worry bout the 8-years bond. "aiyah, at most break bond only mah" lol.
And now... for some way-overdue pictures! Taken when Siao just got her new Canon EOS baby. Anyhow anyhow also can take real artistic shots please! DSLR就是不一样!

cherry garcia, choco mint, ny superfudge chunk and some coffee-flavoured one served with a generous dollop of whipped cream, brightly-coloured M&Ms and chocolate fudge. doesn't sound too bad eh?
chocolate and rose macarons! It was our first time trying them, and the rose flavoured one really caught us by surprise by being slightly crunchy on the outside, while maintaining a moist, chewy, and flavourful interior. $1.50 each from the pastry shop beside Ben&Jerry's at B1 of Raffles City shopping centre. I can't remember the name!
ff-fatface :( anyhow, she keeps saying it's a great shot cos there's a background and a foreground. um, okay lo? lol
siaosiaosiaosiao!! stark contrast from previous 3 pictures, no prize for guessing who took it. okay, the artist in me is just waiting for the right time to break free. okay, i'm kidding, there's no artist in me. boo

1) Today, I talked to Mum about staying in hall.
2) She saw the card that bf made for me, and then tried to pluck out the saga seeds that bf pasted on it (!!!!), before asking, "he make one mor?" I think she was kinda surprised that he would actually make something like that for me. hohoho. Plus point for you, bf!

Before I start saying anything else, it was yf I was referring to in the previous entry. Plan to carry out a mini celebration for Mum wasn't carried out; she ran off for a facial appointment instead. Disappointed that she took me so lightly; I mean, I told her bout it way beforehand and still, she made an appointment that afternoon. Meant to meet her when she's done with her appointment but yf took the longest time (ever) to take a shower and get his bum off the computer. So when we finally opened the door, Mum happened to have just arrived home. Went nowhere in the end, plan not carried out, being taken so lightly by my Mum and brother, I felt like shit okay. Stomped back to my room when I heard Mum's voice in the doorway, and said to yf in tears "go away, I don't want to talk to you" when he came into my room. I don't want to plan anything for her anymore.
Caught Ironman on Saturday night with the bf and his friends. I've been anticipating it so badly and I kept thinking to myself "it'd better be good, it'd better be good". Turns out it's indeed a great movie!
Had a tiff with the bf post-movie. It was kinda ugly. Didn't expect such a simple conversation to escalate into something so serious. I ended up wiping away tears with my pillow over the phone when we both got home. Definitely did not feel good to have looked forward to something so much and then when it finally happened, it had to end in such a sorry state. It's at times like these I wonder if we truly understand each other.
Next morning, he bought some really nice wanton noodles and drove down to pick me up for work. And I was thankful that we got back to what we were as sat in the car to have our wanton noodles. It was yummy (scrumplicious), and I can't explain how grateful I was for that since I had 2 bad wanton noodles experiences in the past 2 days. Anyway, I thought that was really sweet of him, to have woken up extra early just for me. I hope that we won't be having this kinda arguements again anytime soon, don't let it become a fortnightly affair please.
I've just accepted the offer from NIE online, just wondering if they'll still accept me if I fail my PPT. NUS offered Real Estate, and the package's really informative and looks tempting but nah, I guess that's not what I really want to do. I heard they're sending out offers for Real Estate to everyone, seems like they're kinda desperate for students huh?
No more waiting, I'm glad about that. My appointment briefing for NIE's bout 5 hours away. I can't believe it, I'm going to be a teacher? Dad reminded me that I "won't be able to do anything for 8 years", about how I'll need to keep up my grades cause I'm going to be bonded and all. Not very settling, seriously. I still can't convince myself that this is what I really want. I cannot assertively say "Yes, I want to become a teacher" when people ask, just because, I've never really given a thought about it. Okay, we'll see how the appointment briefing goes later...

Caught Ironman on Saturday night with the bf and his friends. I've been anticipating it so badly and I kept thinking to myself "it'd better be good, it'd better be good". Turns out it's indeed a great movie!
Had a tiff with the bf post-movie. It was kinda ugly. Didn't expect such a simple conversation to escalate into something so serious. I ended up wiping away tears with my pillow over the phone when we both got home. Definitely did not feel good to have looked forward to something so much and then when it finally happened, it had to end in such a sorry state. It's at times like these I wonder if we truly understand each other.
Next morning, he bought some really nice wanton noodles and drove down to pick me up for work. And I was thankful that we got back to what we were as sat in the car to have our wanton noodles. It was yummy (scrumplicious), and I can't explain how grateful I was for that since I had 2 bad wanton noodles experiences in the past 2 days. Anyway, I thought that was really sweet of him, to have woken up extra early just for me. I hope that we won't be having this kinda arguements again anytime soon, don't let it become a fortnightly affair please.
I've just accepted the offer from NIE online, just wondering if they'll still accept me if I fail my PPT. NUS offered Real Estate, and the package's really informative and looks tempting but nah, I guess that's not what I really want to do. I heard they're sending out offers for Real Estate to everyone, seems like they're kinda desperate for students huh?
No more waiting, I'm glad about that. My appointment briefing for NIE's bout 5 hours away. I can't believe it, I'm going to be a teacher? Dad reminded me that I "won't be able to do anything for 8 years", about how I'll need to keep up my grades cause I'm going to be bonded and all. Not very settling, seriously. I still can't convince myself that this is what I really want. I cannot assertively say "Yes, I want to become a teacher" when people ask, just because, I've never really given a thought about it. Okay, we'll see how the appointment briefing goes later...

-Lunch with XUE at Subway and we did abit of catching up :)))
-Headed to Zouk with bf for a friend's birthday; someone got drunk even before the party started and that kinda made me a little pissed. All's well now though, we bounced back.
-Morning after, felt rather uncomfortable. Guess I was on the verge of puking.
-Weekend trainings; I got a new student who reminded me of DJ (yes the ex), the way he looks.
-Benchmarking session; how to pass/not pass students.
-Orchard Plaza with Siao to get her new baby, Canon EOS (have you christian-ed it yet?). Sorry for waking up late woman! Scoured the first few levels of Peninsular Plaza for Skateline but we came nowhere close. Only realized that it's Peninsular Shopping Centre after asking some old and grumpy security aunty. B&J (btw, happy free cone's day!) for some ice-cream loving, as we played around with her new baby. It's so damned cool luh!
-Will run a proper update once I've finished catching all the episodes of Fushigi Yuugi okay!

I'm tired. And happy!
Have been 'rolling about' for the past 3 days; and it feels great! I'm in-training for my new-found job and I'm loving it! I get to work with children (plus some adults); they look absolutely adorable in their gears and apart from the few naughty ones who just refuse to cooperate, what's there not to love? I'm looking forward to the next few training sessions! It's time to get serious bout this!
What's the job again? Ha, don't tell you first! Wait till I pass the evaluation and start getting a pay.
Spent the evening at bf's for dinner tonight; I can't get enough of the yummy fried rice. Watched the next 2 episodes of One Litre of Tears on crunchyroll together, just about a third of the time I was tearing (everyone should watch this cos it's just so sad luh). lovelovelove it when he specially offered a hug when he saw tears in my eyes, and gave me a good rub when I complained of muscle-aches. lovelovelove you baby!
I had a great weekend. Hope you guys did too!

Life's almost come to a standstill for me; no job to make time pass a little quicker, and my bank account a little fuller. Quite sad, I know.
Anyhow, the fishing trip with dad? It didn't happen. He was gone (for work) on Monday before I could even wake up, and only came back today. Super anti-climax hor? I bet you were waiting for pictures of my 'hearty catch'.
Passed my BTT today; the wait to apply for the PDL's horrendous please. Siaos recommended a method to minimize waiting time & I thought that might be good to share here: Get a queue number from the waiting area before you go for the test (maybe 30 minutes before your test starts will be good), because YOU WILL DEFINITELY END THE TEST BEFORE IT REACHES YOU. & only today, I remembered the e-learning that the school provides. lala, ev (& sheryl), if you're reading this and you think you need some more practice for BTT, drop me a message/tag (or something) so that I can reply with the id & password for CDC's website. There's still bout 14 hours more to go!
Driving's super fun, though I find my legs more wobbly at the end of lessons.
Met up with Siao this afternoon for Sakae too; I love Jap food! After stuffing ourselves silly at the Heartland Mall outlet, we made our way to a shop nearby that sells pets' stuff, food and all. Purpose? To see the super cute Chow Chows that the shop owner keeps in his shop.

There's supposed to be 5 of them, but 1 passed away, and 2 others were left at home. Quite a lot of dogs, I'd say, and they're not exactly miniature breeds. Had the chance to see Wawa (quiet and more approachable) & Big Boy (this one's got so much hair he looks like a lion lah!), the 2 cute dogs in the shop. Had fun petting Wawa and observing BigBoy in his pen. So cuteeeeeeeeee can! I hope Siao ask me go back to the shop with her sometime soon so that I can take a picture of these 2 doggies for all of you to see!
Okay, I will stop gushing like some highschool star-struck fan girl (because it's never really been my thing). But now you know what makes me go 'Awwwwwww......' Right.
Made fondants at the bf's place last night too; successful batch! Lots to go around too. Bf suggests a dinner celebration in the night for me, for having passed my BTT! I hope we get to eat some really delicious food!
