All day and some old pictures
Wednesday, May 14, 2008
Pulled myself out of bed early morning and made my way down to Buona Vista to get my letter of appointment signed. I still can't believe I made this decision. After all, I never expected myself to consider this as one of my career options at any point in time before this.

The Editorium was half-filled by the time the speaker (she's like the english version of pengkwee, my sec school chinese teacher) started speaking. All of us got our sets of letters, forms (ohmy so many), presentation slides, and the speaker quickly ran through her presentation with us.

Appointment information. check
Medical clearance. check
PPT/EPT. check
Benefits. check
Salary information. check
Leave scheme. check

Got down to the 3rd level where we had our photoshoot (totally un-ANTM, wrong choice of word) for the PScard. I had a very cute lady telling me "okay you look ready!" when it was my turn for the take. We sat beside each other during the briefing and I found out her name's Lilian, and she used to be working under NUH's operations management. What a mid-career switch huh.

Met up with Siao at Wheelock and we went to have XIAO LONG BAOs at Din Tai Fung. They were slurpingly good. And then Siao asked me how did the soup end up inside those baos. We guessed the 'soup' oozes out from the meat-filling when the XLBs are being steamed. Anyone here who really knows the answer?

Had the most torturous walk from Wisma to Far East after our 10 XLBs. gawd I hate those heels. Made some impulse buys that wasn't so good for our wallets (& I got a new one!) before we had HALF-PRICED WAFFLES at GELARE! I can't believe it's her first time at Gelare's but anyway, we should go again next Tuesday!!!

Headed back home for Grandma's birthday dinner celebrations. Caught up with relatives and my little cousins (who are morphing into little terrors). Had a long chat with one of my older cousins about joining NIE. He's taking a mid-career switch (engineer-turned-D&T/CPA-teacher) because he feels that the prospects are really not that bad. We might bump into each other in school in future because he's going to end his contract and start lessons at NIE real soon! I seriously feel better now that I've talked to him, & I guess that's mainly because he told me not to worry bout the 8-years bond. "aiyah, at most break bond only mah" lol.

And now... for some way-overdue pictures! Taken when Siao just got her new Canon EOS baby. Anyhow anyhow also can take real artistic shots please! DSLR就是不一样!

Photo loot:

cherry garcia, choco mint, ny superfudge chunk and some coffee-flavoured one served with a generous dollop of whipped cream, brightly-coloured M&Ms and chocolate fudge. doesn't sound too bad eh?

chocolate and rose macarons! It was our first time trying them, and the rose flavoured one really caught us by surprise by being slightly crunchy on the outside, while maintaining a moist, chewy, and flavourful interior. $1.50 each from the pastry shop beside Ben&Jerry's at B1 of Raffles City shopping centre. I can't remember the name!

ff-fatface :( anyhow, she keeps saying it's a great shot cos there's a background and a foreground. um, okay lo? lol

siaosiaosiaosiao!! stark contrast from previous 3 pictures, no prize for guessing who took it. okay, the artist in me is just waiting for the right time to break free. okay, i'm kidding, there's no artist in me. boo

That's all of the photos I have for today. I hope she'll bring her baby out more often so we can take more pictures and then I will have a blog filled with artistic pictures that only DSLRs are capable of taking. Woohoo! dream on aijia!

Random mother things to end the post with:
1) Today, I talked to Mum about staying in hall.
2) She saw the card that bf made for me, and then tried to pluck out the saga seeds that bf pasted on it (!!!!), before asking, "he make one mor?" I think she was kinda surprised that he would actually make something like that for me. hohoho. Plus point for you, bf!

Breakfast
Tuesday, May 6, 2008
I don't know how that luncheon salami ended up in my fridge, but it tastes damned good when I toast it with bread in the oven. Not too salty, just savoury the way I like it. Simply delicious.

Girls, don't be like that. Hate to admit this but I guess all of us fall under one category at least.

It's May!
Saturday, May 3, 2008
I celebrated Labour's Day by having McGriddles breakfast with Shir & Siao at ECP. Camped there the night before, and we left unexpectedly early due to some damned strong wind at 5 plus a.m. Girls night out, as the bf puts it. It was fun and I was kinda freaked out when some Malay guy near our tent started singing (as though he's praying or something) early in the morning. I thought it was the Indian man who wandered around ECP. And the Ah Bengs/Banglas that make so much noise in the middle of the night, UNFORGIVABLE. I hope you guys get it back 10 times worse!

Slept my way till it was time for dinner! Met up with RL and ZZ and we travelled a fair bit before finally getting to eat. Got to Dempsey's Long Beach Seafood Restaurant from Takashimaya but we ended up making our way to Clarke Quay's Jumbo due to an extremely long queue at Long Beach. #$%^&*()%^& By hook or by crook, we forgot that dinner queues are damned long on holiday evenings. Seafood dinner consisted of: Chilli Crab (thick gravy & mini mantous!), Deep Fried Baby Squid (all-time favourite can), Sambal/Belachan Kang Kong (also another all-time fave), and Scallops with Deep Fried Yam Ring. Hope I made you drool! Caught up over dinner, & it was funfunfun.

Gathering tomorrow night at ZL's place, I'm looking forward to it!

I am thankful for everything that I have; friends, family, and bf. Love you all to bits!

The past few days
Tuesday, April 29, 2008
-Lunch with XUE at Subway and we did abit of catching up :)))
-Headed to Zouk with bf for a friend's birthday; someone got drunk even before the party started and that kinda made me a little pissed. All's well now though, we bounced back.
-Morning after, felt rather uncomfortable. Guess I was on the verge of puking.
-Weekend trainings; I got a new student who reminded me of DJ (yes the ex), the way he looks.
-Benchmarking session; how to pass/not pass students.
-Orchard Plaza with Siao to get her new baby, Canon EOS (have you christian-ed it yet?). Sorry for waking up late woman! Scoured the first few levels of Peninsular Plaza for Skateline but we came nowhere close. Only realized that it's Peninsular Shopping Centre after asking some old and grumpy security aunty. B&J (btw, happy free cone's day!) for some ice-cream loving, as we played around with her new baby. It's so damned cool luh!

-Will run a proper update once I've finished catching all the episodes of Fushigi Yuugi okay!

It's a small world after all
Friday, April 25, 2008

now taller with the mast extensions!

Weikang snapped a picture of Four Friends during his cycling trip to Pengarang some few days back. Looking at this picture instantly brought back memories of days when we spent our lives onboard. The boomnet sessions, sleeping under the milky way and trying to keep track of the number of shooting stars we saw, flying fish landing onboard, lying in the net tied to the bowsprit, wild dolphins sightings, steering and navigating our ways around, abseiling, snuggling into our sleeping bags late at night, spotting "submarine island" in the dark, and so on.

So many first-times experienced on this very sailing vessel. I miss the Captain, I miss the people who went with me, & I miss the things that we did. I miss Bawah...

Alright, enough nostalgia.

I finally satisfied my craving for Ben&Jerry's today, all thanks to the bf! We had Fossil Fuel (while watching Big Daddy on the sofa, no less!), and it was pretty good. Chunks of chocolate cookies, fudge swirls and chunky choco dinos innit! Truly a wonderous experience!

ps. Looking forward to lunch later; been such a long time since I chatted with the babe!

I suddenly have an uncontrollable desire to partyyyyy. & laugh it all off.

Maybe I just want to get drunk; and I can list at least 2 reasons to justify that. Getting drunk, I mean.

1) The immense sense of liberation you get from forgetting what's bugging you.
2) An excuse to do really silly and stupid things, say, kiss a random stranger (I haven't and will not, no matter how drunk I may get), pee in your pants/panties, stumble into random strangers (I got this some nights back; as in, someone came charging at me. had initially thought the person's one of my friends), get really loud.

And of course, 2 reasons why you shouldn't.

1) Hangovers are a bother.
2) Because people don't really appreciate the silly and stupid things you do when you're drunk.

I want to partypartyparty again soon!

Northland Primary in awhile, dinner date at KFC, let it be a good day!

ps. i still can't believe what you wanted to show me was what i wanted to show you; it's amazing. we're meant to be. bleah.

Life's like a roller coaster
Monday, April 21, 2008
I'm tired. And happy!

Have been 'rolling about' for the past 3 days; and it feels great! I'm in-training for my new-found job and I'm loving it! I get to work with children (plus some adults); they look absolutely adorable in their gears and apart from the few naughty ones who just refuse to cooperate, what's there not to love? I'm looking forward to the next few training sessions! It's time to get serious bout this!

What's the job again? Ha, don't tell you first! Wait till I pass the evaluation and start getting a pay.

Spent the evening at bf's for dinner tonight; I can't get enough of the yummy fried rice. Watched the next 2 episodes of One Litre of Tears on crunchyroll together, just about a third of the time I was tearing (everyone should watch this cos it's just so sad luh). lovelovelove it when he specially offered a hug when he saw tears in my eyes, and gave me a good rub when I complained of muscle-aches. lovelovelove you baby!

I had a great weekend. Hope you guys did too!

ps. xue, was great to see you today! let's have lunch someday soon! i hope you see this!!!!! *waves*waves*

回我中正
Monday, April 14, 2008
Lunch with bf & family at Old Airport Road's hawker centre (it's been awhile) before they sent me back to Chung Cheng for Bazaar by the Lake. It was pretty damned crowded despite the heavy downpour an hour ago; parents, students, teachers & ex-schoolmates. WJ's mum bought $200 worth of coupons from his younger brother, and we were there to spend it!

Guess we were a little late though, stalls were closing as we made our ways around. RL was one step too late to win those headphones from one of the game stalls; the 2 juniors right before us walked away with them.

Met Mr Davamoni (my favourite teacher in cchs!) too; looking rounder than before! He went "where's your camera?" when he saw the whole bunch of us at the canteen. I feel more assured when he said teaching's got good prospects.

Walking round the school compound brought back lots of memories. Memories of 1 & 2Justice, 3, 4 Empathy, Kantang & owy, barney (the ex-bf), how the guys usede to joke about Davamoni biting his fingers when he's eating chocolate, staying back in school after lessons to study for the big O, the teacher that farted right beside me in the examination hall, breakfast every morning at the canteen with the girls, dreading the long walk in, the dm's favourite phrase "on time is late" after William Tell's finished playing, how I used to kena getting caught for my ankle socks during morning assemblies, the lake, having a football land straight in my face PHAM, making fun of our literature teacher, and so much more.

I miss my secondary school days a lot.
I miss wearing my uniform.

WS gave us a lift down to Bugis for our dinner & walk about session. I feel horrible, seeing stuff that I like all around me but can't buy cos I'm currently jobless. I swear it makes me want to go KNNCCBB all the time.

Photobucket
this pencil case's only $2 from Action City!

Haven't walked around for so long since a long time back; was a tired bitch when I got back home.

Dinner tonight at Chong Pang Steamboat/BBQ Buffet with bf. No more located at Marina South, you can find it here at Boon Keng now! Love the ice cream they give out. Anyway, no pork, no lard, and it's only $16 for all you can eat. Only drawback, no more super nearby arcade and bowling alley. Guess the nearest one should be at Kallang Leisure Park now.

Walked my way down to The Hive to find WL. It's been awhile! He's asked me to join his Redang Holiday, too bad it falls on the weekend that we're going to Sibu. We also talked bout the possibility of a trip down to Pengarang. Hope he gets the contact from his father, and all we need to do next is set a date!

to a new day of meaningless!
this is getting depressing, isn't it?

just kidding :)

uh, not much?
Friday, April 11, 2008
Life's almost come to a standstill for me; no job to make time pass a little quicker, and my bank account a little fuller. Quite sad, I know.

Anyhow, the fishing trip with dad? It didn't happen. He was gone (for work) on Monday before I could even wake up, and only came back today. Super anti-climax hor? I bet you were waiting for pictures of my 'hearty catch'.

Passed my BTT today; the wait to apply for the PDL's horrendous please. Siaos recommended a method to minimize waiting time & I thought that might be good to share here: Get a queue number from the waiting area before you go for the test (maybe 30 minutes before your test starts will be good), because YOU WILL DEFINITELY END THE TEST BEFORE IT REACHES YOU. & only today, I remembered the e-learning that the school provides. lala, ev (& sheryl), if you're reading this and you think you need some more practice for BTT, drop me a message/tag (or something) so that I can reply with the id & password for CDC's website. There's still bout 14 hours more to go!

Driving's super fun, though I find my legs more wobbly at the end of lessons.

Met up with Siao this afternoon for Sakae too; I love Jap food! After stuffing ourselves silly at the Heartland Mall outlet, we made our way to a shop nearby that sells pets' stuff, food and all. Purpose? To see the super cute Chow Chows that the shop owner keeps in his shop.

A ChowChow look something like this:

nah this is something i got off google, didn't take a picture of them

There's supposed to be 5 of them, but 1 passed away, and 2 others were left at home. Quite a lot of dogs, I'd say, and they're not exactly miniature breeds. Had the chance to see Wawa (quiet and more approachable) & Big Boy (this one's got so much hair he looks like a lion lah!), the 2 cute dogs in the shop. Had fun petting Wawa and observing BigBoy in his pen. So cuteeeeeeeeee can! I hope Siao ask me go back to the shop with her sometime soon so that I can take a picture of these 2 doggies for all of you to see!

Okay, I will stop gushing like some highschool star-struck fan girl (because it's never really been my thing). But now you know what makes me go 'Awwwwwww......' Right.

Made fondants at the bf's place last night too; successful batch! Lots to go around too. Bf suggests a dinner celebration in the night for me, for having passed my BTT! I hope we get to eat some really delicious food!

I f#$%^&*()_)(*&^%$#$%-ing hate having missed calls with witheld numbers. It's killing me!

disappointment
Sunday, April 6, 2008
Fuck Disappointment, I wish I had better things to do than be disappointed with you or you.

Still angry, thinking bout what's been happening lately. Trying to cover things up with silence or a smile or pretending that nothing's happened, that's not going to solve problems.

fuckfuckfuckfuckfuckfuckfuckfuckfuckfuckfuckfuckfuckfuckfuckfuckfuckfuckfuckfuckfuckfuckfuck

Do I feel better? Maybe? Does anyone care? Definitely not you.

Kay. Enough of the complaints. Went through 2 interviews this week. The thing about interviews is that, I actually enjoy interviews. Talking to strangers can be fun, and they'd usually be asking what I like to do; I just don't like having to wait for the results. Keeping fingers crossed.

Have been idling around for quite awhile, I feel unproductive, and I also seriously feel that I need a job badly. First interview of the week was at Zouk; & if they decide to hire me, I'm going to be a fucking barmaid! No better time than now for a job like that, you just have to agree with me on this. Pleasepleasepleasepleaseplease let me through this, because I would really love to buy those Aero/VS/AE/Supre shorts/panties/bags/shirts but I am officially broke.

Comm Skills tutors would have been very disappointed to know what I wore for my 2nd interview. My back-up plan & I was super under-dressed. It was supposed to be a back-up plan but after Siaos let me know of the rewarding aspects of this career, I think I'm going to take it up if they're going to offer that something-new-PE-Taiwan-Scholarship to me. Save the fees and have a spanking good time in Taiwan, promised an interesting (hey at least not desk-bound what) job for at least 5 years, what's so bad about that? I am actually regretting not having dressed up a little bit more now. nabei.

I pestered my dad to bring me fishing tomorrow. I hope everything's going to turn out well and we'll return with a hearty catch!

Back home, where the heart's supposed to be
Friday, March 14, 2008
Okay, before I even start on Phuket, let me do just a quick run through of events that took place prior to the trip...

Danny and his dad were in town for a couple of days to get his registration with the culinary school done; ended up realizing they need a few other documents though. Online interview to be conducted sometime pretty soon for him, I guess. I'm like, whoa... online interview huh!

Anyhow, we got down to Waraku at Marina Sq for dinner. I felt pretty bad for bringing him to school to "take a look" and also wait for my diploma's graduation ceremony to end, (3-4 hours?) decided that Waraku wasn't such a bad idea for making it up to him. So there.

Photobucket
Salmon ikura/roe don, or something like that. I learnt bout this rice meal from TV some few weeks back and they made it look really delicious, in a simple sort of way. I was craving for it quite badly, even though I've never tried it before, but yeah, I could imagine the taste as we placed our orders (savoury roe with sweet white rice, miam).

Photobucket
With flash. I thought the serving was far too generous, I mean, they could make do with lesser rice. Meaning, I had problems finishing my dinner! Probably only 80% done, dang it. The guys were kinda small-eaters too, yf & danny, barely finishing their meals and helped little with mine. I seldom see guys having so little for dinner, or is it because I usually have dinner with d? chuckles...

So the next day after Danny & his dad went back to to Penang (& they got a pretty snazzy set of GPS for their car!), I met up with Siao because I had yet another reallyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyy immense craving for the taiwan deep fried chicken cutlet. Ended up in Ajitei for some desserts after we got our Disney on Ice(!) tix...
Photobucket

Photobucket
Photobucket
Guess it was still alright for me; pretty tasteless stuff, most of it, but the ice-shavings' delicious.

Photobucket
some tasteless cube that's not nata de coco!

Photobucket
she.loves all things yellow

Photobucket
and there's the lotus root chips; tasted like potato chips leh, but I like... and just to add in another useless point in life... 莲藕汤's my favourite soup in the world!

We got bored and I just happened to have some bling bling stickers in my bag... so, happy sticking:

Photobucket
my rainbow ds! with a matching heart bling.
Photobucket
phones, cameras, our limbs....and this is how I ahlian-ize poor siao's hp despite her many pleas for me to stop... hee hee hee... so not guilty bout it!

I'm feeing tired but so much better now... see you guys tomorrow alrighty! Nights loves...

The man living one level up
Friday, February 22, 2008
hates me! There's absolutely no reason for him to be shouting at the top of his lungs at 5.45 a.m. All I can make out of that shouting is "bullshit", "horrible", "terrible", coupled with lots of door slamming. Can't wait to meet this person and give him a mighty bear hug!

Nah, just kidding. Of course you knew, right?

It's time for yf to wake up for school! Lotsa hot chicks, that's what he said of his new school. Not a major distraction, I hope.

Life suddenly looks a whole lot better than yesterday. I have a wholesome family; not perfect but everyone shows the love they should, and I took 20 years to realize this? I can't imagine life without mum, dad or yf at this point in my life. Geez. Bf, yeah, I have a bf whom I love very much. People around me, I don't think they hate me or anything. I can't help but feel like a bastard right now, sorry people(if you can sense why).

Names, names.. is it that important to be mentioned? Are you less of a friend if no mention's made on you on a good friend's blog? (Not mine okay) Maybe? Yes? No? Looking back, I think it did matter. I call it, the need of belonging. There's really nothing wrong with it, it's all part of observations. Don't mind me, I love most of you still. Even though I hardly mention names ;)

Back to school...
Monday, February 11, 2008
The long weekend is finally over. Hate to admit it, but yeah, we're all going back to school tomorrow!

Not complaining though; the past few days have been kinda fun. Bf came over to my place on 初一, and we went to my grandma's place together. took the chance to introduce him to my relatives; I feel damned brave now, blogging bout it cause I was half-expecting Dad to holler at me or something back then. Thank goodness it was初一and i think that was what made him not do it.

Had a fantastic dinner at his grandma's place and came back to find my dad learning how to play mahjong! I must have the 'wtf' look on my face when I saw that; went on to lose 50 bucks for him. Expensive fee paid for the very first lesson.

Managed to get wenyun, weijun & eden to my place for mahjong the following night. Weird combination? I think so too, but it worked out in the end anyhow... ha!

Visited the prawning place at Bishan with the pri sch clique today and we caught a handful of prawns! Jon said our catch was pathetic; but I didn't think it was that bad. At least we didn't go back empty-handed; the place was kinda packed today anyway.

Tomorrow marks the start of final papers for the bf, and the first day (out of 7?) that yifeng'll be away in Penang for CNY. The next few days won't be as lonely as it may seem to be; hopefully(?)... lots of catching up on schoolwork, and what-nots. Have yet to send the necessary documents over to ntu, work out the details for the eco-trip, attempt online quizes for DCM (i seriously think it's a chore leh)etc etc. So many things left undone, eeeks!
